First I want to thank everyone who has made my first year here so welcoming. I have enjoyed this entire season so far and look forward to having a strong finish. I have noticed a few things with many golfers (especially juniors). I hope this helpful hint will improve your game. Starting at the top of the golf swing, when making the transition into the downswing, I would like to see the hands move towards the ball first to start the downswing while the club lags behind. When doing this, the hips need to open and turn towards the target. The club head should never get in front of your hands . If the clubhead gets in front of the hands, the clubhead will hit the ground behind the ball and the result will be a chunky shot. A good exercise to help see where your clubhead is at impact is to make a straight line in a sand bunker. Position the line in the center of your stance and address the clubhead on the line. Take a full swing and see where the clubhead impacts the sand. If done properly, the clubhead should have hit the sand exactly on top of the line where the clubhead started at address. This exercise will let you see where the impact of your clubhead is when hitting the ground, and how consistent you are. Good Luck!
